When I first read the article, I wondered the same question.  Then I recalled that in actual practice I almost never pull out a measuring cup until the moment I need it--a bad habit of mine.  Also, using the scale is faster than preheating the measuring cup and takes a step out of the process.

I admit it&#039;s not the Tip of the Year but I like it. :)

		<description>This may be a silly question, but why are you going digging for your measuring cup &lt;i&gt;after&lt;/i&gt; getting your water to the right temperature for the French press?

Also, of course, you should be preheating your measuring cup just as you preheat your mug.</description>
